IIT Bombay's Center of Excellence in Quantum Information, Computing, Science and Technology (QuICST) has been founded to accelerate research, education, and entrepreneurship in quantum technologies (QT) and to contribute to the National Mission on Quantum Technologies and Applications (NMQTA) in an organized manner. Together with the Office of Dean R&D, QuICST hosted its inaugural workshop that brought together experts working in various aspects of QT.
Thanks to the fantastic talk by the Physics 2012 Nobel laureate, Prof. Serge Haroche, keynote talks by Prof John Martinis, Ex-PSA, Prof K VijayRaghavan, and Prof. Sougato Bose, and a series of talks from faculty at IIT Bombay that made the workshop great success. Some intense discussion on the past and future of quantum technologies in India and abroad spelled out the quantum revolution 2.0 happening worldwide. Thanks to Prof. Arindam Ghosh, Prof. Rajamani Vijayaraghavan, Prof. Serge Haroche, Dr. Abdul Kayum and Mr. Manoj Nambiar for sharing insightful thoughts in the panel discussion. It is for sure that this workshop has encouraged the students and faculty of IIT Bombay to explore synergies between their own work with that of QuICST and NMQTA.
